Terms of Service

Plain language first, legal obligations second. By using PostingPal, you agree to these terms.

Who we are

PostingPal is operated by POSTINGPAL.APP, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada (BIN 1001616040). Contact: support@postingpal.app.

Our Privacy Notice is incorporated by reference and forms part of these Terms.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract.
  • Keep your login credentials safe — you're responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person per account. You can invite partners under the partner-access feature without sharing your password.
  • The service is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information; if you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Subscription, trial, and cancellation

  • Free tier: limited features, no payment required.
  • PostingPal Plus: CA$79 per year, billed annually in advance through Stripe.
  • 14-day free trial: first-time Plus subscribers only. No charge during the trial. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
  • Auto-renewal: Plus renews automatically each year at the then-current price unless you cancel. We'll email a reminder before renewal.
  • Cancel anytime: from Account → Manage subscription. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds: payments are generally non-refundable, but if something is clearly broken on our end, email us and we'll make it right.
  • Prices may change for future renewals with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Acceptable use

Don't use PostingPal to:

  • List, store, or sell illegal items, stolen goods, weapons, or anything you don't have the right to sell.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, resell, or rebrand the service.
  • Abuse AI quotas, share accounts to circumvent limits, or attack the platform.
  • Upload other people's personal information without their permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

Your content

Your inventory, photos, and data stay yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display them strictly to operate the service for you (including running AI suggestions on items you submit). We don't sell your data or use it to train third-party models.

AI features

AI-generated titles, descriptions, prices, and categories are suggestions, not professional advice or guarantees. Always review them before posting or filing an insurance claim. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you publish.

Ownership of AI output. You own the AI-generated content produced for your account, subject to our providers' terms. You're responsible for ensuring that what you publish — AI-assisted or not — doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

Third-party services

PostingPal relies on third parties to operate, including Stripe (payments), our hosting and database provider, AI model providers, and email delivery providers. Your use of the service is also subject to their terms. We're not responsible for outages, errors, or actions of these providers, though we'll work to route around them when we reasonably can.

Insurance claim packets

PostingPal helps you organize and export inventory records. We are not an insurance broker, adjuster, or legal advisor. Values, categories, descriptions, depreciation estimates, and any other figures generated by the service are estimates only and must be independently verified by you before they're submitted to anyone. We make no representation that any insurer, employer, government program, or relocation provider will accept a packet generated by the service, and we are not responsible for denied, reduced, or delayed claims, payouts, or reimbursements.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but don't promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, or third-party failures (hosting, payments, email, AI providers) may cause downtime. Keep your own backups of anything important — we provide self-serve CSV and PDF export for this reason.

Force majeure. We're not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, labour disputes, government action, network or power outages, cyberattacks, and failures of third-party providers.

The legal small print

No warranty. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent allowed by law.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or CA$100 if you're on the free tier). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, denied insurance claims, or lost sales — even if we were told they were possible. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under Canadian law (such as gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

Indemnity. You'll cover us against third-party claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

Termination

You can close your account anytime from Account settings. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, fail payment, or are inactive for an extended period.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. When you delete your account, your inventory, photos, and personal data are erased right away and cannot be recovered. Export first — open Reports and download a CSV (and PDF on Plus) of your inventory before deleting. See the FAQ for a step-by-step guide.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.

Notices

We'll send legal and account notices to the email address on your account. Keep it current — notices are considered delivered when sent, even if you no longer read that inbox. You can update your email anytime from Account settings. Send notices to us at support@postingpal.app.

Service emails. Some emails are part of the service itself — sign-up confirmation, password reset, magic links, email change, account or security alerts, contact-form confirmations, and yearly inventory refresh reminders. These are transactional and are sent regardless of any marketing preferences. We don't send marketing emails today; if that ever changes, you'll get a clear opt-in and unsubscribe choice.

Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice, are the complete agreement between you and us about the service and replace any earlier discussions or promises.

Severability. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

No waiver. If we don't enforce a right right away, that doesn't mean we give it up.

Assignment. You can't transfer your account or these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be brought in the courts of Ontario, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your province says otherwise.

Quebec residents. If you reside in Quebec, mandatory provisions of Quebec law — including the Consumer Protection Act — apply to you and prevail over any conflicting term in this agreement, including the governing-law and venue clauses above and any limitations of liability that Quebec law does not permit.
