Scan a receipt to add items faster

Attach a receipt photo when adding one item or scanning many. We read the merchant, date, and price and prefill the fields.

When it helps

For new purchases, a receipt gives more accurate values than the AI estimate, plus the exact purchase date. Great for warranty-eligible items (electronics, appliances).

How to attach one

  • Single item — on Add Item, tap Add receipt under the photo. Snap or pick the receipt; we extract merchant, date, and prices.
  • Scan multiple — after taking your shelf/drawer photo, tap Attach receipt. We match each detected line item to one of your scanned objects when possible.

When a field has been filled from the receipt, a small From receipt badge appears next to it. You can override anything before saving.

What we read

Merchant name, transaction date, currency, line items with description and price. We do not store the receipt photo with the item by default — the extracted text is what flows into your inventory.

If extraction fails

Receipts that are crumpled, faded, or shot at a sharp angle may not parse. The form still saves normally and you can type the price by hand. Take the photo flat, in good light, with the whole receipt in frame.
