Every item can have one shipping tag at a time. Tags drive what shows in your manifests, what the AI suggests as a destination value, and which subtotal appears on the dashboard.
The seven tags
- Sea freight (HHE) — household effects shipped by container. Slowest, cheapest per kilo. Most furniture, kitchen, books, kids' bedrooms.
- Air freight (UAB) — unaccompanied air baggage. Faster, weight-limited. Bedding, towels, a starter set of kitchenware, a few toys.
- Long-term storage (LTSA) — items you do not take with you, stored in Canada. Heirlooms, off-season gear, anything not allowed at the destination.
- Hand-carry — flies with you in the cabin or checked luggage. Documents, jewellery, electronics, medications.
- Diplomatic pouch — for items eligible for the diplomatic mail system. Limited categories.
- Private storage — your own paid storage outside the relocation program.
- For sale — items you plan to sell before departure. Excluded from shipment manifests, included in the public sale page.
Switching a tag
Open an item, tap the tag chip, pick a new one. Bulk-change from the inventory list by selecting items and tapping the tag icon in the bulk bar.
Default tag suggestions
When you set a destination, PostingPal suggests a tag based on category and weight (e.g. a laptop → hand-carry, a wardrobe → sea). The suggestion is just a starting point.
