Two origins on one posting (split moves)

Add an optional second origin when a spouse or partner ships from a different city than you — common with non-accompanied posts.

Updated 2026-06-16

When to use it

Some postings are non-accompanied: the employee is already at post while the spouse stayed in HQ (or vice-versa), and both households now relocate to the same new post. PostingPal lets a single posting carry two origins so each item can declare where it actually ships from.

Add a second origin

Open Account → More → Postings (or the Move logistics card), edit your posting, and tap + Add a second origin. Enter:

  • City + country for the second pickup location.
  • Label — a short name you'll see on items (e.g. "Spouse — Ottawa", "HQ").

The destination stays a single post. Existing tags (LTS, private storage, for sale) are unchanged — second origin only applies to items that physically ship (sea, air, hand carry, diplomatic pouch).

Pick an origin per item

Once two origins exist, the item form shows a required Coming from picker for shipping items. There's no default — you choose which origin each item leaves from. Items already in your inventory keep the primary origin until you edit them.

What it changes

  • Item list: a small origin badge appears on items shipped from the second origin (the primary stays clean).
  • Export (CSV / FSD manifest): a new Origin city column shows the correct pickup city per item.
  • Removing the second origin: allowed only after no items reference it — reassign them first.
